Our Story

I am Jeff, a life-long tech geek with a passion for people, gadgets, AV, smart homes, and IT infrastructure design. As a child, I used to tinker with electronics and computers, shadowing my father who would buy and sell devices as a side hustle. I remember fondly the first custom PC I built from scratch in seventh grade. I think it’s fair to say that tinkering with tech has always been a big part of my life.

Like my interests, my professional resume is eclectic, with roles ranging from IT systems administrator for a manufacturing plant to community manager for a dot.com startup, to ballroom dance studio co-founder, and more recently, four years as a systems programmer for a local smart home integration company. In every role, I’ve quickly become a trusted resource for any and all tech related questions, so I’ve had the opportunity to build a very broad skill-set. Oftentimes, thinking outside the box was the only way to get a job done. Need a system to queue and play partner dance music selections to two people in sync? You got it. What about the best Wifi configuration for working from home? Sure thing. Want to talk through your options for audio or smart home while staying within your budget? I’m ready. I decided to start Home Techonomics in partnership with my wife, Sarah, because we wanted to help clients with their personal technology needs the same way we help our friends and family. Treating everyone with respect, transparency, and their best interests (and pocketbooks) at heart is a priority for us.
